Why grain direction matters
Dressmaker carries your pattern placement onto the final dress. A panel aligned to the grain and a panel cut on the bias can display the same fabric differently, especially with directional prints.
Place the least flexible pieces first
Scan the complete set before cutting. Reserve uninterrupted cloth for the longest or widest panels, then fit smaller pieces into the remaining spaces without crossing the fabric edge.
Understand the cutting-room tools
Players report confusion between pattern cutting, trimming away a used fabric section, and the eye/outline control. Build 410 also stopped the mouse wheel from rotating panels while the pointer is over inventory.

Confirm every cut reaches inventory
Before leaving the room, count the cut panels against the design. A panel that was cut but did not appear later can block assembly and delivery; Build 410’s inventory placement hint helps diagnose where a visible panel belongs.
